Reading Group: Ideas, Arrangements, Effects: Systems Design and Social Justice
We can redesign systems if we follow a simple premise: “Ideas are embedded in social arrangements, which in turn produce effects.” Our book Ideas, Arrangements, Effects: Systems Thinking and Social Justice offers arrangements as a rich and overlooked terrain for achieving social justice and world building. In this five-part in-depth discussion class, participants will delve deeply into each section of the book Ideas, Arrangements, Effects. This class offers a structured and supportive environment to read and engage with the book’s content, making connections between the ideas and arrangements presented and their effects on our daily lives. Whether you’re new to the concepts introduced in the book or looking to deepen your understanding, this class is an ideal space for thoughtful discussion and reflection.
This class will be held on 5 consecutive Thursdays from 6pm-8pm starting on September 19 at our Public Kitchen space on 545 Columbia Road (next to the Strand Theater) in Upham's Corner.
